We are interdependent.

In the Yucatan Mayan community, the phrase In Lak’ech Ala K’in roughly translates to “I am your other self" or "I am you.” This teaching from my community embodies the spirit of interdependence and is at the center of my work philosophy. Although many organizations are focusing their attention on inclusion, diversity, equity, access (IDEA), my work invites us to focus on interdependence with the understanding that we are all in need of unlearning, healing, and imagination work—not only as the means of our mutual survival but as our North Star as we (re)build life-affirming systems for our collective liberation.
